One great philosopher has rightly said, “Knowledge is the key to success.” Nothing can be better than books as a source of knowledge. It is an established fact that education remains incomplete without access to books and other learning resources. To fulfil this need in the education system, a well-equipped library with a vast collection of books and related literature plays a vital role in the overall development of students.
The library provides students with an opportunity to explore knowledge beyond their textbooks and develop the habit of regular reading. It helps improve their language skills, vocabulary, comprehension, creativity, critical thinking, and general awareness. A library also encourages students to conduct research, complete assignments, prepare for examinations, and develop independent learning habits. It serves as a quiet and resourceful space where students can read, learn, explore new ideas, and broaden their horizons. The school library has a sufficient collection of books covering the entire spectrum of the curriculum, along with reference books, general knowledge books, newspapers, magazines, and other educational materials. Enriching the library is an ongoing process that requires financial assistance, which is provided by the State Government annually. Books and other printed materials can be obtained from the library under different schemes for a definite period. The library thus plays an important role in nurturing knowledgeable, curious, confident, and lifelong learners.
